Resin art example
The latest resin art example from my studio.
I just finished setting this self portrait on a piece of driftwood found on the beach here in San Francisco.
The piece of wood is thick and beautifully aged by the salt, water and sun. When laying it out I decide to do two things I usually avoid:
- I let a few bubbles form in the resin on both sides of the portrait
- The drawing itself floats above a thick layer of epoxy resin and curls up at the edges
The point was to create a set that looked as if the piece of wood used as a support for the self portrait had just washed up ashore. Clear resin can look like water, and I wanted  the watercolor to look embedded with its support. Let me know what you think of this resin art example!
That is thinking outside the box! I love your sea-washed image, bringing you, via your image, back from whence we came– the sea. The use of natural imperfections makes me smile. COOL! Becky
